Why can’t I see the full VIN number in the report?

To protect vehicle and owner privacy, we handle the display of the full Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) carefully, especially since reports can be shared.

Here’s a simple guide to how it works.

VIN access for the report owner

When you are logged into your carVertical account and generate a report, you will see the full VIN in the online version of the report. You will also see the full VIN in the PDF version, as long as you download it while logged in.

Important: Your full VIN is always available in the "My Reports" section when logged into your carVertical account.

VIN visibility in shared reports

If someone has shared a report with you and you are not the report owner, you will not see the full VIN in the online version.

In the PDF version, you will only see the full VIN if the report owner downloaded the PDF while logged in and then shared it with you. If you download the PDF yourself, the full VIN will not be displayed.
